Hunting sideboard in solid mahogany resting on a plinth.

Its two large double-sided leaves allow the front doors to be opened as much as possible. The opening is permitted by a lock and a beautiful rocking rack. This articulation of the doors at right angles allows an understandable saving of space in a room of such proportions. An intermediate opening is possible thanks to the presence of four bolts closing the two small shutters.

The solid mahogany is molded and carved on the front on the arched doors, the uprights and the sides in a stylized chapel. Brass keyholes and hinges.

This elegant sideboard is topped with a rare 4.2 cm thick marble. This variety of banded Campan marble is particularly honored at the Palace of Versailles. It is indeed very much appreciated by Louis XIV, who sees it as an emanation of glorious Antiquity.

18th century port work. Usual restorations.
