Solid mahogany hunting sideboard resting on plinth.
Its two large double-wing leaves allow the front doors to be opened as much as possible. Opening is enabled by a lock and a beautiful rocking rack. This articulation of the doors at the right angle allows an understandable saving of space on a room of such proportions. An intermediate opening is possible thanks to the presence of four bolts closing the two small shutters.
The solid mahogany is molded and carved on the facade on the arched doors, the uprights and the sides in a stylized chapel. Brass keyholes and hinges.
This elegant sideboard is topped with marble with a rare thickness of 4.2 cm. This variety of banded Campan marble is particularly in the spotlight at the Palace of Versailles. It was in fact very appreciated by Louis XIV who saw in it an emanation of glorious Antiquity.
18th century port work. Usual restorations.
