Beautiful oil on canvas. This large tondo is framed by an important gilt frame à la mecca, measuring 96 by 96 cm. Mecca gilding is an Italian technique consisting of the application of silver rather than gold leaves, subsequently covered with a golden varnish called mecca. It is this typical Italian process that produces this pale gilding with silver reflections.
