Chest of drawers, Louis XIV, XVIII

Louis XIV chest of drawers in precious wood veneer including amaranth, satin and ebony.

Its curved front opens with 5 drawers in 4 rows decorated with large ebony fillets.

Ornamentation of gilded bronzes on the drawers and the front legs. The two small top drawers have lion head keyholes. The central locks represent Louis XIV as a child.

Brass grooves adorn the front and rear uprights.

The quadrilobed sides present unique reflections by playing with light.

The chest of drawers is surmounted by a tray framed by a brass mold. It is adorned with an interlacing decoration of several essences framing a brass cartouche inlaid in the top and finely chiseled.

Period early 18th century.
